DBA and our vast community is saddened by the loss of Kent Lockhart.

After playing for three seasons with the Eastside Spectres in the National Basketball League between 1989-1991, Kent took a year off and later joined the Dandenong Rangers in 1993. That year Kent was a CBA/SEABL All Star. Kent then suffered a bad knee injury that took him out of basketball for the 1994 season. Kent made a return in 1995 where he received another All Star award.

Kent retired in 1995 where he went on to coach in the Dandenong Rangers junior program and also dominated in the domestic competition on a Thursday Night in the A Grade Men’s division. Kent also went on to be the first Rangers coach to win a Youth league championship.

Our deepest condolences go to the Lockhart family and Kent’s friends during this difficult time. We will remember his legacy at DBA for years to come.
